App's table structure suddenly broken

Yesterday my App broke and I don’t know what happened.

Suddenly it was not possible to synch for the user with error “table columns mismatch blabla”. I wondered because I did not change the tables and the error says a 12 column table has now 45 columns.

In edit mode I got lots of error messages until I recognised that AppSheet messed up 2 tables. So it seems the tables exchanged in the App editor without changing anything in the gSheet database. Now I am afraid both tables are broken and I am about to loose all the column settings and formulas.

I tried to restore an old version, but all the old versions have the same problem. Any idea how to get back the old table settings and why this happened?

This can happen easily if someone accidentally enters a value into a cell of an otherwise unused column of the spreadsheet.

If any cell in a column contains a value, the column becomes visible to AppSheet and must be configured in the app editor.

At the very least, select the entire oddball column (the 45th column) and press the Delete key to clear it of all values.

Best: select all columns beyond the last one your app is configured for and delete them entirely. I consider it best practice to delete all unused columns and rows.
