يمكنك استخدام التصنيفات لوضع علامات على الرسائل وسلاسل المحادثات وتنظيمها وتصنيفها في Gmail. للتصنيف علاقة أطراف بأطراف مع الرسائل وسلاسل المحادثات، إذ يمكنك تطبيق تصنيفات متعددة على رسالة واحدة أو سلسلة محادثات واحدة، وتطبيق تصنيف واحد على رسائل أو سلاسل محادثات متعددة.
تتوفّر التصنيفات بنوعَين: تصنيفات SYSTEM محجوزة وتصنيفات USER مخصّصة. تتطابق تصنيفات النظام عادةً مع العناصر المحدّدة مسبقًا في واجهة الويب الخاصة بـ Gmail، مثل البريد الوارد. أسماء تصنيفات الأنظمة محجوزة، ولا يمكن إنشاء تصنيف USER يحمل الاسم نفسه الذي يحمله أي تصنيف SYSTEM. يسرد الجدول التالي بعضًا من تصنيفات نظام Gmail الأكثر شيوعًا:

إدارة التصنيفات على الرسائل وسلاسل المحادثات
لا تتوفّر التصنيفات إلا في الرسائل. على سبيل المثال، إذا أدرجت تصنيفات في سلسلة محادثات، ستحصل على قائمة بالتصنيفات التي تنطبق على أي من الرسائل ضمن سلسلة المحادثات. قد لا يتوفّر تصنيف لكل رسالة ضمن سلسلة محادثات. يمكنك تطبيق تصنيفات متعددة على الرسائل، ولكن لا يمكنك تطبيق تصنيفات على الرسائل المحفوظة كمسودّة.
إضافة تصنيفات إلى سلاسل المحادثات أو إزالتها
عند إضافة تصنيف إلى سلسلة محادثات أو إزالته منها، تتم إضافة التصنيف المحدّد أو إزالته من جميع الرسائل الحالية في السلسلة.
إذا تمت إضافة رسائل إلى سلسلة محادثات بعد إضافة تصنيف، لن تكتسب الرسائل الجديدة التصنيف الحالي المرتبط بسلسلة المحادثات. لإضافة التصنيف إلى هذه الرسائل، أضِف التصنيف إلى سلسلة المحادثات مرة أخرى.
لإضافة التصنيفات المرتبطة بسلسلة محادثات أو إزالتها، استخدِم الرمز threads.modify.
إضافة تصنيفات إلى الرسائل أو إزالتها
عند إضافة تصنيف إلى رسالة، تتم إضافة التصنيف إلى تلك الرسالة ويصبح مرتبطًا بسلسلة المحادثات التي تنتمي إليها الرسالة. لا تتم إضافة التصنيف إلى الرسائل الأخرى ضمن سلسلة المحادثات.
إذا أزلت تصنيفًا من رسالة وكانت الرسالة الوحيدة في سلسلة المحادثات التي تتضمّن هذا التصنيف، ستتم إزالة التصنيف أيضًا من سلسلة المحادثات.
لإضافة التصنيفات المطبَّقة على رسالة أو إزالتها، استخدِم الرمز messages.modify.
